This 14-day Ugandan adventure, starting in Entebbe. Itinerary

On your arrival we will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and will transfer you to Papyrus Guesthouse your accommodation for tonight.

Early morning to beat the traffic, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a short 3-hour drive from Kampala – about half way to Murchison Falls Park . The Sanctuary is part of the effort of rebuilding the Rhinoceros population in Uganda. As you visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary you can track the Rhinos on Foot. You are guided by experienced rangers during this one of a kind experience. Normally a Rhino Trek is about 2 hours in duration. We will have 1 hr presentation/talk and Q&A session on the Ziwa’s and the Rhino Fund’s effort to re-introduce, community Education programs) then have lunch at the Amuka Lodge.
After lunch we will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, you will cross the ferry to conduct Game drive with sundowner and then proceed to check in at your accommodation.

06.30 commence game drive to the Victoria Nile Delta area of the park. The delta area is quite spectacular with several endemic mammal species to be seen that includes the Rothschild's giraffe and Jacksons Hartebeest. Elephant and other large mammals are also present. The Shoebill stork is also to be found in the delta a must see species for the avid bird enthusiast.
Return to Baker’s Lodge for lunch. At 14.00 you will again leave the lodge to conduct a private launch trip excursion on the Nile to the Murchison Falls themselves. This is a 3-hour activity.
The riverbanks often host elephant in the afternoon, crocodiles are monstrous and the waterfalls themselves spectacular. The riverbank is also home to the Red-throated bee-eater a locally endemic to the Murchison Falls National Park.
You will have opportunity to disembark the boat launch at the drop off point close to the base of the falls (approximately 750m) to be met by a UWA ranger / guide to follow the riverbank and footpath that leads up to the top of the falls. The walking trail from the drop point up to the head of the falls will take about 1 hour. Your safari vehicle will rendezvous with you at the top of the falls.

The Victoria Nile delta, a 20km voyage downstream from Paraa, is home to rare wetland birds including shoebill and papyrus endemic species. Private delta area cruises with a “breakfast on board” option are offered in the mornings departing from our jetty at Paraa on the South Bank at 07.00am. At the end of the cruise you will be met by your Guide and an experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority guide to take you deeper into the park so keep watch for the leopards, lions, elephants, warthogs and giraffes as well as a large variety of game herds such as buffalo, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthog and bushbuck.
You’ll stop for a picnic lunch beside the hippo pool before heading to Delta Point to seek out more big cats and if you’re lucky, Uganda’s infamous Shoebill stork. The delta is the stalking ground for many of the parks big cats including lions and solitary leopards. Your guide is experienced in tracking the creatures amongst the undergrowth so you should have a good chance of finding them relaxing in the shade out of the full glare of the sun. Return to the Lodge to overnight.

This is a driving day where provision should be made to allow 8 hours on the road. You will depart Bakers Lodge via the rift valley escarpment road offering spectacular views over Lake Albert to the DR Congo and West Nile. You will proceed via the towns of Biso, Hoima, Kenjojo and onto Fort Portal to your overnight accommodation venue within KIbale Forest National Park at Primate Lodge. The venue is great starting point for Chimpanzee tracking.
Upon arrival in Fort portal – you will visit the Nkuruba Nature Reserve, a community initiative to protect Lake Nkuruba one of the Crater Lakes in the region, enjoy a guided walk through Lake Nkuruba forest and wetland area, learning about monkeys ( lots of Black and White Colobus Monkeys are found here, birds and tree species found on the Nature Reserve. Transfer to Primate Lodge located in the Kibale Forest Park.

Proceed early morning at 6:30am for full day chimpanzee tracking experience; you will spend the entire day with Chimpanzees following them from nest to nest. While tracking, you will be able to spot different animal species like the Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, and L’Hoest’s Monkey among others and different bird species.

Proceed morning at 8:00 Am, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk, Rich in biodiversity and beautiful scenery, the wetland is a birder’s paradise with about 138 species. Located outside the park in Magombe Swamp, it also hosts eight species of primates including the black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed, l’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, and olive baboons. Bushbucks and mongooses can also be found here. The sanctuary was set up to preserve the exclusive environmental features along with the wetland and is managed by the local community.
After lunch depart Kibale Forest for Queen Elizabeth National Park, proceed to Kyambura gorge, after check in visit the Kyambura Women’s Coffee Cooperative and its coffe processing station and also time allowing continue to the wetland reserve for bird watching.

Proceed very early morning to the Kasenyi sector for the morning game drive, then return to the Lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast – transfer to the Kyambura Gorge, the gorge is an extraordinary natural environment and forms as stark contrast to the surrounding grasslands. Here you can trek chimpanzee in the gorge as an optional activity. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing can be unpredictable but the walk in the gorge is amazing.
In the afternoon take cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which flows between the Lake Edward and George. The Kazinga is home to one of the greatest concentration of hippos in Africa and herds of Elephants, Bufalos and other animals come to drink at the waters edge. The channel is a magnet for water birds, with great flocks of Pelicans and other birds on the shore, look out for the African Fish Eagle.
In Omumushaka Dance group will perform in the evening.

After breakfast proceed to Ishasha sector, very famous for the tree climbing lions. The Ishasha sector is the only other place in the entire world where you will find tree climbing lions.
The Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park is rich with wildlife including warthog, water buck, bush buck, leopard, Ugandan kob, elephants, countless bird species and even the rare giant forest hog. The Ishasha sector of the park is known for its famous tree climbing lions sometimes found lying about in the branches of the native fig trees.

Today we will depart the beautiful area of Queen Elizabeth and drive to the southwest via Ishasha sector with a game drive in search of tree climbing lions, thereafter precede to Buhoma sector and continue to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge or take an optional guided walk through the impenetrable forest.
In Buhoma which is the northern side of the park you will meet our Nkuringo Walking Safari guide who will walk with you 4 hours through the forest to Nkuringo, on the southern side via the Ivy River trail which is the shortest route. Your safari guide will meanwhile drive around to the lodge and will meet you there so we recommend you pack a little day pack as chances are high that you will arrive before him. A packed lunch will be provided.
Your arrival in Nkuringo will see you at 2160m above sea level. From the vantage of Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge a 270-degree panorama will hopefully unfold to reveal views of the volcanoes of the Virunga, the western arm of the Great Rift Valley and a huge swathe of primary forest that constitutes the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

After breakfast proceed to the Nkuringo visitor’s reception 300m from Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge. The guides do a good job to describe the surroundings and the lifestyle of the animals. After this tour, in the evening you can relax around a campfire, take walks or retire to the lodge.
On completion of the gorilla tracking you will return to Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge to freshen up, and reflect back and browse your pictures of the gorilla tracking activity earlier in the day. Time permitting with one of the Nkuringo Walking Safaris guide team you can explore the village of Nkuringo to engage in some cultural interaction to the Batwa pygmies in Buniga forest.

After breakfast depart Nkuringo via town of Kabale through Mbarara town to stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch.
Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park where your accommodation will be at Mihingo Lodge. A provision of 5 to 6 hours on the road between venues should be considered.
Mihingo Lodge is situated on a series of rock out crops on the boundary of the park with views of Lake Opeta. Each of the accommodations is very private and beautifully sited. The lodge has a gorgeous infinity pool where the dining room overlooks a man-made waterhole that draws in game to include on occasions Eland antelope.
Activities: - Conduct a boat trip on Lake Mburo in the afternoon; there after proceed with your guide on game drive en-route to the Lodge.

Conduct morning game drive and guided nature walk in Lake Mburo park, the park is the safest for walking safaris. After return to the Lodge.
With picnic breakfast, allow a four-hour hack up to hilltop viewpoints where exciting horse safaris starts from. Horseback safaris are an exciting way to view wildlife, including eland and buffalo. Also commonly sighted are warthog, topi, impala, duiker, bushbuck, waterbuck and zebra. Transfer back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation and thereafter proceed for an evening game drive which will expose you to the wildlife you would have missed during the horse safari.

Return to Entebbe after a late breakfast anticipated driving time 6 hours on the road. En route you will pass the equator where a coffee break can be taken and possibly the picnic lunch provided by the lodge. Transfer directly to Airport for outbound flight
